“It is with great disappointment that we have had to postpone Swimathon 2020, originally due to take place on 27-29 March. We are actively exploring options for our local Swimathon events to take place later in the year and we will update you as soon as possible, once we have consulted fully with our partners. MySwimathon dates have been extended until the end of October but please continue to closely follow UK Government and Public Health Authority advice on Coronavirus.”

“Having discussed with Barry Claughton the Government’s latest advice about social distancing, to protect those over 70 and NHS capacity, we agreed that all meetings of the Art Group will be cancelled until further notice.”
“Following today’s advice from the government, this year’s Roundhay Artists Open Studios event on 25/26 April has been postponed. It was to have been partly staged at Oakwood Church with the support of Art Group members. A new date will be posted Here in due course.”

Its such as shame because I feel this is where a movement practice can really help our physical health and mental, social and emotional wellbeing. Sing ON launched online with a test session on Zoom today and 68 homes with members from our two Tuesday groups joined in! We plan to have sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays in future open to members of all four Sing ON sessions

Oakwood Church Notice
In accordance with government guidelines and the response of both the Methodist Church and The Church of England, Oakwood Church is ceasing to meet for any public worship and all church and community activities are cancelled forthwith
The Leadership Team and Caring and Learning Team are working to ensure that we have worship material for us to worship at home, that we can keep in touch with everyone, and that we can help people who are in need
We will keep you updated as we know what is happening and our thoughts and prayers are with all in our communities, from the youngest to the oldest. We will work together to support us all physically, emotionally and spiritually
